Plants Curriculum

School project with California Academy of Sciences

Plants: The Living World Around Us is a curriculum designed for 5th graders to introduce them to concepts of photosynthesis and plant adaptation and engage students in scientific inquiry. This was a class service project done in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences and is a two-week classroom unit designed to accompany a visit to the Museum and Living Roof exhibit. Each lesson builds towards a final project and includes personal journals to guide students in investigations and reflections. Content aligns to California state standards in science, but projects are interdisciplinary, involving reading comprehension, writing, and art.
